In memory of John Gell aged 16 years and 5 months.
Here lies a youth well learnt and wise
Whose humble heart knew how to prize
Eternal bliss in peace he’s gone
And left his friends, on earth to mourn
Died April 14^th 1819.
Also of Thomas Gell who departed this life August 18^th 1822 aged 63 years.
He was master of Slaithwaite Grammar School 14 years.
Also of Mary Gell who departed this life November 29^th 1822 aged 17 years.
Blessed are the dead, that die in the Lord.
Also of Sarah Castle relict of the above Thomas Gell and wife of Richard Castle who departed this life November 29^th 1840 aged 64 years.
