Beneath this stone lie waiting the Resurrection, The remains of Ann wife of adjacent Joseph Eastwood of Slaithwaite. Who departed this life on the 17^th day of May in the year of our Lord 1796 in the 59^th year of her age.

Also the remains of Edmund son of the above cited, Joseph and Ann Eastwood. Who departed this life on the 18^th day of May 1812 in the 43^rd year of his age.

Stay certain dear reader, cast a sore eye, God knows how soon thou in the grave must be, think not thy wealth deaths summoned to withstand, nor with thy strength to stay his fatal hand, an awful year hath lodged me in my tomb, I hope in Jesus Christ for joys to come.
