Grave A45           HIRST

Beneath this stone lie waiting the resurrection the remains of Edmund Hirst late of Wortshill in Slaithwaite near this place who departed this life on the 18^th May 1833 aged 62 years.

Also the remains of Susey wife of the above said Edmund Hirst who departed this life on the 13^th day of September 1833 aged 60 years.

Afflictions sore long time I bore

Physicians were in vain

But death gave ease when God did please

And freed me from my pain
