Beneath this tone are deposited the remains of Martha the wife of William Sykes of Holme who departed this life on the 30^th day of June 1800 in the 52^nd year of his age.

O death thy fated dart hast thrown my mortal frame beneath this stone

Yet I am blessed with God who reins in Heaven above

And joins in nothing having of love.

Also David Sykes son of Edmund Sykes of Lingards who departed this life on the 25^th day of May 1806 aged 1 year nine months.

Also William Sykes of Lower Holme who departed this life 18^th April 1836 aged 83 years and 10 months.
