Beneath this stone lie interred the remains of Elizabeth Wood the wife of James Wood of Highfield in  Slaithwaite who departed this life on the 14^th day of  September 1827, aged 57 years.
Also near this tomb lie Elizabeth, daughter of the above who died  September 28^th 1815, aged 11 years.
Also at the head of this tomb lies Mary wife of Thomas Wood who  died November 3^rd 1843, aged 42 years.
Also the aforesaid James Wood who died Oct. 21^st 1851, aged 82 years.
Also at the foot of this tomb lies John son of the above James and Elizabeth Wood, who died April 2^nd 1847, aged 46 years.
Also William Henry son of the above Thomas and Mary Wood who died July 22^nd 1854 in the 17^th year of his age.
Also Charles Henry their son who died  Jan. 31^st 1864 aged 39 years.
Also the above Thomas Wood who died June 27^th 1868 aged 69 years.
Also Edwin Wood son of Thomas and Mary Wood who died August 22^nd 1870 aged 42 years.
Also at the head of this stone rests Joseph Wood, Mount Pleasant, Slaithwaite Born Octr. 6^th 1841 Died  July 16^th 1913.
