In Memory of Mr. Benjamin Whitley late of Beestonley Lane near  Stainland who departed this life on the 17^th day of March Anno Domini 1809, in the 77^th year of his life.

Whilst my freed spirit mourn above ye skies

Here warpp’d in dust the mouldring body lie

But when my judge returns, I hope to rife

To life immortal, and unfading joy.
